We are having a short work party on Saturday May 19^th at 9am to get the track ready for Sunday. If you are not going to Victoria on Saturday and could give Bill a hand for an hour it would be greatly appreciated.

A HUGE THANK YOU to all of those people who came out to help with Mondays group work party. There were tons of people there and we got a lot done. I think we are going to make this a weekly thing as there are lots of liitle jobs to do before the national. We will have a list of jobs to do each gate practice night so check in at the moto shed. If you can even come out for 1/2 an hour to push a lawn mower it helps a ton!!!!

May Day Parade Update – Cumberland

If you are planning to attend the parade you can park at Coal Hills BMX track, head back towards town on Dunsmuir and muster by the red roof church (instuctions I was given). YOU NEED TO BE THERE BY 10AM. You must wear your helmet, jersey and have your bike to be in the parade. All riders will receive 100 local track points for attending. Let me know if you have any questions.

Recently I have been getting a lot of questions about Nationals, PCR’s and VIC’s.

What the heck is a PCR? Well I will do my best to explain them. Come and find me at the track if this doesn’t make sense.

I have attached the 2012 ABA rule book to help answer any questions that you might have.

What is a PCR or Provincial Cup Qualifier Race?

A PCR is a provincial cup qualifier race.

It’s a double point race series all over the province throughout the year with a final.
You have to race any 3 races plus the final to qualify for a provincial ranking.
You can race all the PCR’s on the island and not go to the final.
The final is August 26th in Vernon.
They take your best three PCR totals plus the final for your ranking

What is a VIC or Vancouver Island Challenge race?

VIC or Vancouver Island Challenges work the same as the Provincial series only they are a single point race and are just on Vancouver Island

You must race 3 races plus the final to qualify to be the VIC champion.

How does the Canadian National System Work?

There are 4 Canadian National Events plus a Canadian Grand National

There is a prerace on the Friday night and is a double point race (Not a national race).
Each Saturday and Sunday of the National Event plus the Saturday of the Grand National weekend is classified as an individual National.
That makes a total of nine Nationals during the year and they are considered triple point races.
The Final on the Sunday of the Grand National is a Quadruple point race.
National scores are tabulated by using your best 6 National scores plus the Grand National final for each age group.

The cost will be $35 per rider. We need a minimum of 30 people to sign up for it to happen.

PLEASE BRING CASH to the track on Sunday.
There will be sign up table in front of the moto shed.
checks or credit cards will NOT be accepted

NOTE: This camp is for intermediate & expert riders. It is not recommended for novice riders.

We will be offering novice rider clinics later in May or early June. STAY TUNED for more details.
